  • Abstract
In this paper, we study the downlink capacity of a multi-rate DS-CDMA (direct sequence code division multiple access) system with an antenna array at base station. We present the performance analysis for the mixture of data users and voice users defined by their bandwidth and fidelity requirements in a multi-cell CDMA cellular system, where there are three sectors per cell. And we adopt a multi-channel scheme as our multirate scheme. In this paper, the effect of path loss, Rayleigh fading, log-normal shadowing, together with multiple access interference and thermal noise are considered. Simulation results are also presented
