Abstract
A new overmodulation technique is presented which is able to reduce the common mode currents generated in inverter-fed motor drives equipped with fast IGBT devices and produced by the high rate of variation of the voltage. The main advantage is that the inverter output voltage is continuously increased up to the maximum allowed by-the DC bus voltage. Full evaluation of the features of the proposed approach is experimentally accomplished on a standard PWM inverter-fed induction motor drive
