Abstract
Modular array antennas can be achieved either with a ´brick´ or a ´tile´ implementation. In this paper the tile array which is the lightest and most compact of the two is analyzed with respect to the sidelobe performance, under the constraint of uniform power distribution over the aperture. The effect of tile quantization of the array aperture, the spacing between the tiles and the correlated phase errors over the tile are discussed.
