Abstract
A radar antenna that is transmitting and receiving chirp signals captures information of the target orientation. A mathematical model which contains the orientation angle of the target is presented. Further, a signal processor is developed for signals scattered from two prominent point sources. It is shown that the inclination angle, which is termed the pitch attitude of the aircraft, may be estimated quite accurately using this chirp-signal model-based processor.
