Abstract :
Optimal force-commutated AC/DC and DC/AC converters with minimum input-current or output-voltage harmonics are proposed. This converter is able to produce leading or lagging power factors for either mode of operation. The minimization of rectifier input-current harmonics or inverter output-voltage harmonics is achieved through numerical solution of optimal firing and extinction angles for the switches
