Abstract :
In this paper, the NOde-Grouped Orthogonal frequency division multiple access (NOGO) protocol is newly extended, which was proposed as a medium access control (MAC) protocol in single-cluster underwater sensor networks [1]. Unlike NOGO MAC, the extended version can work in multi-cluster architecture, thus we name it multi-cluster NOGO (McNOGO). McNOGO employs two different frequency channels each for uplink and downlink and schedules them alternately on the time axis in such a way that contiguous clusters have a disagreement of up/down scheduling to avoid inter-cluster interference. We evaluate the proposed protocol in terms of the normalized successful throughput using computer simulation.
