Abstract
A multiple-output 85 W 500 kHz DC-DC converter using all surface-mount components and insulated-metal substrate is described. Practical considerations and sources of surface-mount components for power are discussed alo with issues in using insulated-metal substrate for circuit etch in place of regular FR4 printed-wiring boards. The proposed design minimizes hand-assembly steps in the module assembly process. It provides a good low-profile design with a good thermal-management scheme
