On the practical approach to functions and structure of virtual university programs

By the development of communication in computer systems, development and application of Internet mediated teaching systems in the communication intensive higher education one of the main concerns in applied informatics. As these applications became more complex and by increased demand for better utilization of computer technology, direction of development changed to replace the conventional documentation style systems by more advanced model based systems. The authors made an analysis on one of these attempts from the point of view application of model based virtual higher education programs in the practice of engineering education. In this paper, representative issues and methods are introduced and discussed including versatile course based on student profile, definition and constraining of courses, topics and procedures, and extension to industrial modeling system.
