  • Abstract
SAR interferometry has come to the fore with the realization of the applicability and the general availability of interferometric data. With the widespread use of interferometry come problems concerning analysis and interpretation. Two aspects of these problems are phase unwrapping and speckle filtering. The authors present a joint phase unwrapping and filtering algorithm that optimally extracts the absolute phase from the relative phase via an adaptive weighted least-square method. SIR-C/X-SAR interferometric images of Mt. Etna, Italy are used to illustrate the method
