Abstract :
With the advance of the knowledge-based society came the rapid expansion of the number of students leading to the increase in time needed for their examination. This time is equal to, or sometimes even exceeds the time needed to teach the material in lectures and practices of a subject. This time factor is the main reason for the appearance of various knowledge evaluation systems. Knowledge evaluation systems do not generally support the evaluation of freely formulated short answers or partly solved problems. In order to find a solution to this problem in the area of mathematics (more specifically, the field of linear algebra) the eMax KAS system was developed jointly with IBM Hungary and the “John von Neumann” Faculty within the Budapest Tech. This article will present how this system works, it contains the results of testing this system the Subotica Tech, and further it provides a justification regarding its use at mid-term tests in the subject Discrete Mathematics.
