Abstract
Organizations have defined several home network infrastructures for controlling consumer electronic (CE) devices. A shortcoming with existing infrastructures is their inability to abstract device controls into high-level audio-video services across a home network. Therefore, what is needed is an infrastructure that abstracts devices and their controls into high-level content services thereby promoting the deployment of user-friendly content centric applications. In this way, applications can be quickly developed eliminating CE devices from the AV-experience
