Abstract :
In this study, we design a cognitive support system by smart phone for cosmetic skin analysis support. This is a support system for users to take pictures of their skin and easily transmit a skin image to a skin diagnosis and analysis server. The skin diagnosis service is used to promote the sales of cosmetics. In our study, cognitive support using a smart phone means that the processing and the user operation of the smart phone are recognized, and advice on the operation is transmitted to the user in real time, using voice or vibration. This system determines the condition of the skin and supports the user´s judgment by using a smart phone as the user interface. It provides the user with operation support by inputting the value acquired from each sensor at when the picture is taken. We regard our study as cognitive informatics because it involves the support of a cognitive process. Users perform their own skin diagnosis, checking whether photography has been performed correctly and receiving cognitive feedback through voice or vibration, based on the photography environment and operation situation. The user receives detailed support with voice and diagnostic results based on an exact skin picture, as well as selection support for cosmetics suitable for the user´s skin.
