  • Abstract
The Stimulus Hardware Emulator (SHE) Proof of Concept is an R&D effort that seeks to validate the proposed plan to replace multipleConsolidated Automated Support System (CASS) stimulus instruments with a single integrated hardware asset. The proof of concept effort will comprise Research, Demonstration, and Analysis tasks to show that the system concept of a single integrated hardware asset is compatible with the detailed requirements of CASS stimuli. The heart of the system concept is a cascade of three subsystems: digital control and timing, D/A conversion, and analog signal conditioning. The focus of the SHE Proof of Concept effort is to demonstrate that this architecture concept is a good choice for the architecture of the stimulus portion of the next generation of CASS. The effort shall also explore the practical and theoretical implications of this concept. Other architectural options and concepts that relate to the fundamental concept can be considered
