Abstract :
Techniques for allocating, transmitting, and detecting multiple spreading sequences in a spread spectrum Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) network are described. Each user in the network is assigned a number of sequences, each of which represents multiple bits of information. The sequences are generated by “switching-in” appropriate fills to a multiple-register configuration at the beginning of each symbol interval. The techniques discussed have the advantages that data rate can be increased over that achievable in conventional spread spectrum schemes while not increasing bandwidth and only slightly degrading processing gain
