Abstract :
A digitally precise time-interval to voltage converter (TVC) is described. The TVC converts timing variants to voltage variations. Since measurements are available pulse-by-pulse without interruption, a TVC can reliably isolate intermittent timing faults. Since the output signal is available in real time, a TVC makes possible the correlation of timing modulations with voltage and current waveforms. The TVC offers a direct method of viewing and measuring pulse modulation dynamics that bypasses the cumbersome and indirect techniques currently in use. This leads to more efficient troubleshooting and more thorough design verification of switch-mode converters
