  • Abstract
Battery powered electronic devices impact most aspects of our daily lives. Many of these devices are of recent design and reflect the close interaction between the electronics and battery industries. Batteries are components of these devices and do not have applications in themselves. Success in the battery industry depends on being responsive to the needs of the portable electronics business area. The introduction of higher performance, high energy systems is a key element in the growth of the battery business. The electronics industry constantly applies significant pressure to develop higher energy battery systems
