Abstract :
This paper discusses theories that help to understand the adoption and use of new technologies and services. We will also discuss the shortcomings of these theories as well as an alternative approach. The paper will conclude with an example of how this approach can be applied in empirical research. The specific case is that of channel and source choice of Dutch entrepreneurs seeking governmental information.
