Abstract :
Automotive electronics encompasses a wide variety of devices and systems taday. The key to them all is to sense and measure accurately automotive parameters. Equally important is the accurately control actions at the output. Concerning the control systems, a special attention is focused to automotive microcontrollers. This paper presents the ICs top-down design methodology applied for the particular case of spark engine management system within the larger context of the automotive electronics. The main features of this approach consists of the controller robustness and the capability of processing vague information given by the use of fuzzy inference in order to generate the control variables.
