Abstract
In this paper we revisit the static output feedback stabilization problem for linear time-invariant systems. Based on recent results from Cao, Sun, Mao, Trofino-Neto and Kucera, we give a new perspective on this problem and propose a more straightforward approach. The new approach only relies on the existence of two weighting matrices that guarantee the fulfillment of an eigenvalue inequality. We also give a sufficient condition for static output feedback stabilization, which relies on the existence of two weighting matrices that guarantee the fulfillment of a matrix inequality.
