  • Abstract
Continuously variable transmission is commonly used in hybrid vehicle. Torque converter with lockup clutch is a important part of CVT. In this paper, a hybrid vehicle based on the CVT made a new principle of locking torque converter. The motor provide back-up power to ensure use of vehicle dynamic performance, so we can improve the transmission efficiency and reduce fuel consumption by locking clutch in advance. According to vehicle parameters, we established a model and change the locking time which is according to the output speed of CVT from 1136 rpm to 800 rpm. On ECE condition, Simulation results show that locking clutch in advance can reduce fuel consumption 3.89%.
