Abstract :
The colorful and large size display continues to challenge the designer, who researches in on-chip display data RAM (DDRAM) in the LCD/OLED driver/control ICs, especially for mobile applications. In this article, we firstly analyze the special system requirements and characteristic of on-chip DDRAM, and then provide detailed design considerations from circuit to layout. The DDRAM used in one of our LCD driver/control ICs is shown as example.
