Abstract
The challenging dynamic range required by CMOS direct conversion GSM and UMTS makes the design of mixer for these applications so challenging. An easily reconfigured, high IIP2 and low noise multi standard mixer supporting DCS, PCS and UMTS standards is presented. The mixer achieves IIP2 higher than 70 dBm in all bands while its input refereed noise performance is 5 and 3.5 nv/sqrt(Hz) in DCS and UMTS modes, respectively. The design is done in 65 nm CMOS technology and consumes 8 mA from a 1.2 V supply. The mixer IIP3 and conversion gain is higher that 5 dBm and 12 dB in all frequency bands.
