Abstract :
This paper introduces a design solution of UHF reader based on AS3991 and the selection for key parts is finished. The paper expatiates the hardware structure, working flow and software design. The UHF reader operates at the frequency of 912MH, it can support the mainstream standards of 900MHz RFID EPC Gen2 and ISO18000–6C/6B. Using the internal PA and internal VCO which integrated on the RF chip, the reader has the advantages of small size, high integration and low cost. The realization results prove that the reader´s communication distance is more than 2m. The design of UHF reader can meet the practical application need.
