  • Abstract
Biorobotics is an emerging and deeply interdisciplinary field. The main focus of Biorobotics is to analyze biological systems according to a biomechatronic approach. Biorobotics aims at developing biomimetic robots usable as scientific tools to generate new scientific knowledge on the functioning of biological systems. Biorobotics also aims at developing new robots that are designed to have high performance and to be more acceptable and friendlier for the human user. Integration technology is a key feature in the design and development of highly integrated mechatronic systems like biomimetic or biomedical robots. In this talk, different examples of integration will be illustrated for robots intended to be used as scientific tools for neuroscientific investigation, for endoluminal surgery and for rehabilitation.
