  • Abstract
    This paper proposes a method to estimate the pseudonoise (PN) sequence period for direct sequence ultra-wideband (DS-UWB) signal in multi-path channel. The power spectrum of received signals is firstly estimated, then the estimated power spectrum is taken as input signals and its power spectrum is computed again. Finally, it will appear a series of peak pulses with interval, which equates to the PN sequence period of DS-UWB signal. The expression of reprocessed power spectrum can reveal the feasibility of this method. Meanwhile, to enhance estimation performance, average accumulative method is used. The simulation results show that the proposed approach is very effective at lower signal-to-noise ratio (SNR).
