Abstract :
In the Ad Hoc network, ODMRP (on-demand multicast routing) is mesh-based multicast routing protocol. According to the analysis of ODMRP, we know that broadcasting the route request packets periodically can cause heavier burden to the whole network. This paper presents a protocol which bases on network coding and simple XOR to prevent the deficiencies in ODMRP protocol. The results of NS2 (Network Simulator version 2) simulation have proved that the improved protocol can reduce spending on the control packets, the number of packet forwarding and saves energy.
