Abstract
In this article we discuss the architecture operators are moving towards in support of converged services based on the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS). We describe the key IMS application servers being defined in standards bodies and discuss how they will be incrementally added depending on key business drivers. We also discuss the topic of service interactions between IMS and non-IMS based applications.
