Abstract
In this paper, a passive optical network (PON) based on optical code division multiple access (OCDMA) is presented, and analyzed in detail. The proposed system can be applied to an optical access network with full services on demand, such as internet protocol, video on demand, telepresence and high quality audio. An OCDMA-PON combines advantages of PON and OCDMA technology. Simulation result elicits the proposed scheme is feasible. In this study, the novel design improves the optical access network performance and enhances the system flexibility and scalability
