  • Abstract
Electromagnetic compatibility is becoming a “hot issue” since the new EC Directive 89/336 has been published. Furthermore, the new EN61800-3 Product Standard has been recently published too. Many papers have already been published related to emission problems. Until now, little work has been done related to immunity for motor drives apparatus. In this paper, the authors show how the new EN61800-3 Standard has been used and, on the basis of experimental results obtained in one EMC test laboratory, how some of the immunity problems found can be solved in the apparatus design stage, using a preliminary “good design guideline”
