Abstract
The paper describes the use of electromagnetic absorbing materials for the damping of screened rooms. The nature of the difficulties encountered during EMC testing in screened rooms is explained and the most common absorbing materials are described. The modelling of such materials in time-domain codes is then presented together with examples of the response of fully or partially lined rooms. The paper concludes with a discussion of possible future developments in this area
