Abstract :
This paper describes the procedures and the results achieved during the characterization of some fabrics made with a yarn of cotton fibers and stainless steel wire, 20 micron diameter, spun together and realizing metallic rectangular meshes. Also reported are the results of the shielding effectiveness (SE) measurements of overalls made of one of the conductive fabrics measured (mesh 2.2×2 mm). The measurements have been done in the frequency domain and in the time domain. Good results have been achieved especially for f ⩽1 GHz
