Abstract
This paper proposes to develop an angle measurement system of the orientation sensor based on accelerometers and fluxgate magnetometers. By analyzing temperature error and fix error which affect the orientation accuracy, a new error correcting model has been put forward. Testing results show that the MWD orientation sensor system utilizing the suggested compensation model is more accurate in directional drilling operations, which has considerable values.
