Abstract :
A turbo-coding scheme matched to the 1-D2 partial response channel is proposed. Parallel concatenated ternary trellis codes matched to the 1-D2 channel are applied. The channel capacity is approached by up to 0.5 dB. The transmission signal is run-length limited
