Abstract
The effects of propagation anomalies on some of the parameters are considered and some results of extensive attenuation measurements are given. As an example, a Ka-band VSAT system that exploits suitable impairment countermeasure is shown. The performance of the proposed communication system is evaluated using the experimental data and a comparison with the results obtained using ITU-R prediction methods is presented, as well
