Abstract :
Channel dispersion errors in the frequency response of intermediate frequency (IF) band-pass filters can have a significant effect on the ability of a phased array to adaptively reject interference. In this paper, a physically realistic model of the IF filters is described and the effect of dispersive errors on jammer rejection is investigated. The use of digital FIR correction filters to correct for dispersive errors is described, and the question is addressed of whether an increased level of digitisation would reduce the need for channel equalisation.
