Abstract
The paper reports the principle and characters of the magnetoresistive sensor and its application in the localization of the noninvasive monitoring capsule in GI (gastrointestinal tract). When the capsule´s position is detected, the kind of sensor may be fixed inside the capsule, and the three coils for stimulating magnetic field are fixed outside body. Like this, the capsule´s coordinate value can be calculated by magnetic theory. However, as a more excellent method, we can fix one cylindrical permanent magnet inside the capsule, and three magnetoresistive sensors are fixed outside the body. The capsule´s coordinate values can be calculated by magnetic dipole theory, too. The relevant experiment indicates the novel method is simple and reliable. The method will probably be applied in practice with continually researching. Moreover, the magnetoresistive sensor will play important role in the localization system.
