Abstract
In this paper, we propose a new design method for window shapes and weights of weighted median filters. This technique is applied to texture images corrupted by impulse noise. To improve mean square errors (MSE), the window shapes and weights are estimated by using the simulated annealing method, respectively. From simulation examples, the proposed method gives better results compared to the ordinary weighted median filters.
