Abstract
We analyse the design and performance of a singly resonant cavity-enhanced frequency tripler. A schematic of the device is shown. The device consists of a cavity that resonates the pump laser. The cavity contains a second-harmonic generation (SHG) interaction that generates the second harmonic of the pump laser. This is followed by a sum-frequency generation (SFG) interaction that frequency sums the resonating fundamental frequency with second-harmonic frequency to produce the third-harmonic of the pump laser. The second- and third-harmonic of the pump laser are coupled out of the cavity. We model intracavity loss by a single-point attenuation
