Abstract
In this paper we analytically evaluate the performance of turbo frequency domain equalizers when the frequency selective channel is estimated erroneously. We generalize the bit error rate transfer chart method proposed with the assumption of perfect channel information to the case with imperfect channel state information to analyze the performance of a turbo frequency domain equalizer. Through a comparative performance evaluation we show that the performance achieved by simulations is consistent with the one predicted by the bit error rate transfer chart. By this analysis tool we investigate the sensitivity of both adaptive and non- adaptive schemes to the processing gain of channel estimation. We show that the former case is less sensitive to channel estimation error.
