Abstract :
Based on the measuring data of surrounding rock deformation, the cusp catastrophe model of surrounding rock was established with catastrophe theory in Gong he tunnel. And the instability criterion of the surrounding rock was derived. Then the constructing process of the instable segment is simulated by DEM in Gong he tunnel. The possible broken mode of the surrounding rock in tunnel are analyzed. The research achievements provide important support for predicting the instable surrounding rock of tunnel with complex geological condition.
