Abstract
Sensing is one of the key technologies for the implementation of cognitive radio. The usual In-band sensing is performed during quiet period to avoid the interference from the network itself. In this paper, we proposed a novel In-band sensing method which can avoid the usage of quiet period to guarantee the performance of the network. In this method, the complementary of adjacent OFDM symbols is utilized to perform power detection. Furthermore, we extend this idea to several applications. Simulation proved that our algorithm has a comparable performance with power detector in quiet period. And the algorithm can achieve an acceptable performance for IEEE802.22 system.
