  • Abstract
Camera is demonstrated to be the basic image and video input device and it is widely used in many fields. One of its applications is to locate an object\´s position and various methods have created. High-capacity of RAM and rigorously required processing speed is necessary in these methods. Utilizing interrupters and counters to monitor the synchronizing pulse signals, changing its scanning model from "line scanning" to "column scanning" by artfully rotating the camera with 90°, an "array detector" is produced. By comparing the recorded line-counter number with the total scanning line number which is determined by the resolution of the camera, experiments have showed that this method can easily obtain an object\´s position information with an acceptable approximate accuracy and be applied in obtaining positions of objects.
