Abstract :
Thermal management of graphics cards in personal computers has become important with the increasing popularity of video intensive applications and games. This paper presents a conceptual thermal design for the Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) of the Accelerated Graphics Port (AGP) card. Experiments, with the help by computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations, are used to produce and prove the concept design. The results of CFD simulations were found to be within +-10% error of the test data.
