Abstract
Wetlands, with multiple ecological functions, are vital ecosystems that provide livelihoods for the millions of people who live in and around them. This paper analyzed the connotation of wetland agriculture, pointed out that wetlands are available for agriculture, wetland agriculture develops based on agricultural use of wetlands and it will exist in the long term, meanwhile which overuse may produce some severe issues such as flood threats, deterioration of wetland environment, biodiversity loss, etc. So that it is needed to balance wetland conservation with the needs of people and insist on a correct direction that agricultural production in wetland area should be safe, efficient, clean, and eco-friendly. Based on summarizing the experiences and achievements, the paper finally thought that sustainable agriculture of wetland is an effective way to achieve equilibrium between wetland protection and agricultural use of wetlands.
