Abstract
As group-oriented services become the focal point of adhoc network applications, securing the group communications becomes a default requirement. In this paper, we address the problem of group access in secure multicast communications for e-class application running over mobile adhoc network. In the e-class application, a faculty conducts a tutorial class electronically. The faculty sends tutorial questions to authorized students of the group and students submit their tutorial answers to faculty through secured communication. To perform the secure communication for e-class application, we propose a secured, energy aware key establishment and distribution scheme. The secure group key management also includes techniques for managing the group keys when a member leaves or joins the group. The emphasis is given to design the key distribution and re-keying protocol with very low communication overhead.
