Abstract :
For the limitations of direct starting and step starting of DC motor, a soft starting method is designed, and modeled the simulation models based on dynamic simulation software MATLAB/SIMULINK to separately excited DC motor, calculated and set the parameters, obtained the simulation results. Contrasting the characteristics of three starting methods, the simulation results proved the soft starting method has better effect on current limitation and continues starting process. The effect of simulation also shows that MATLAB should be an efficient simulation tool for teaching and engineering design in machine simulation field, and provides a theory reference for more applied starting and protection methods of DC motor.
