Abstract :
We present original designs for dispersion shifted fibers with depressed index difference at the core center, well suited for high-bit-rate transmission, with large effective area (up to 100 /spl mu/m/sup 2/) and small chromatic dispersion slope (0.065 ps/nm/sup 2//km).
