Abstract :
The article presents a view on why signalling is so important for any network, how interconnect has evolved technically over the last ten years and what we collectively in the UK are doing to enable a smooth technical evolutionary path with respect to interconnect. The views are given with reference to the activities of the Interconnect Standards Committee, the ISC, and are being presented in the context of principles rather than specific technical details
