Abstract
The MPEG-4 AAC audio encoder achieves low bit rates by appropriately choosing the two encoding parameters Huffman code books and scale factors. Existing AAC implementations solve the implied optimization problem using an heuristic two loop search. This paper presents two novel optimization techniques that for the first time find optimal solutions for the AAC optimization problem.
