Abstract
A simple method is proposed to generate UWB pulses which satisfy the FCC spectral mask. The proposed algorithm is easily realized with an oscillator and an on-off switch. The center frequency and the bandwidth of the gated pulses are controlled by the frequency of the oscillator and switch closures. Also, it can be applied to various systems if a filters, such as the root-raised cosine filter, is used.
